What People's Say About Place

CJ was so friendly and welcoming. You can tell that he loves what he does. Food was amazing. The cabbage was my favorite surprisingly — both jerk chicken and curry chicken were great. The double box was yummy. Overall had a great meal!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Queen Trin!Lisa Island Soul Food and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. This is the kind of friendly, family-owned restaurant with genuine charm and incredibly delicious food that truly deserves recognition. Places like this are exactly why I take the time to write reviews! I HAD TO BREAK THIS ONE DOWN! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and made with care. We ordered a feast and were delighted with the quality: • BBQ Chicken & Curry Chicken: Both were phenomenal. The BBQ had a beautiful, sticky glaze, and the Curry Chicken was rich and satisfying. • Oxtail: Tender and cooked to perfection, served in a rich, savory sauce. It was a definite highlight. • Macaroni Cheese Bake: A generous, Mac/cheese comforting side—the ultimate comfort food. • Rice and Peas, Spinach, and Cabbage: All the sides were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and complemented the main courses beautifully. Honestly, everything was soooo delicious. The menu offers a fantastic selection, as you can see, covering classic Trinidadian and Caribbean favorites. The restaurant itself has a delightful, colorful atmosphere, giving off true island vibes with its green walls and tropical artwork (including a map of Trinidad!). The service was amazing! warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. It's clear that this is a true family operation, and that care is felt throughout the dining experience. We brought our son with us, and we already believe this is going to be his new go-to place for "home cooking" while he's in NOLA. We will be back!

Came here for lunch. We quickly found a table, love the plants in the restaurant. The wait not too long was truly worth every bite! Fresh and hot with friendly kind owners. The jerk chicken very scrumptious, and the oxtails tender to the bone. I love a good gravy and spice. EVERYTHING on our plate was delicious! We will be back again… another hidden city gem for us to enjoy! Ohhh and please order the Mac & Cheese .

1000/10 Best Caribbean food I’ve had in a while—and I’m from New York, which is saying something. We had the combo plate with jerk chicken and curry chicken, served with rice and peas and cabbage. Everything tasted homemade and cooked with love—super flavorful. The gentleman running the place made it feel like dining in his own kitchen. We grabbed doubles to go and they hit the spot. Truly amazing food—one of those rare places where all the glowing reviews are 100% accurate. Don’t miss it!

Arrived on 10/31 to enjoy some Caribbean food. First we met the owners son while taking orders, CJ. Humble young man with a great personality! We also met Queen Lisa, a beautiful soul. A few words with the two of them turned into a very long conversation! Enjoyable at the least! When we left we were able to grab cookies and goodies from her neighbors! but yes let me get to the food. I was afraid because the food wasn’t piping hot anymore when we got back to the room that something about the taste would change but I was so wrong. The curry chicken was on point. The spinach was good. The plantains were delicious and the rice and peas is the best rice and peas I’ve EVER had. They have the right amount of spicealso the coco bread fish sandwich was so good! A different, unique and healthy sandwich at that, served with two different sauces. Would I go back to support? Of course! We will be back when we are in town again. Looking forward to trying some goat and getting more rice& peas w/ plantains

We all got something different and every dish was excellent. Our server CJ was very friendly and attentive. And we met the lovely chef/ owner as well.

I came all the way from New York because my daughter recommended this place. It did NOT disappoint. I had BBQ and Jerk Chicken, fried plantains spinach and rice. The portion was too much to finish. Overall excellent experience. From the food to the friendly staff!

Food is. Nothing amazing but really solid Caribbean food. I had the jerk chicken, rice & peas, and Mac & cheese. Their version is more like a spicy bbq chicken but still good. The plantains are some of the best I’ve had. Mac & cheese was good. The rice & peas were okay. Just not as good as Jamaican Rice & Peas. It’s byob so got brought a bottle of tequila and got lit. Staff was really nice and accommodating. Will def come back
